A heavy machine-moulded 'Torsade' or swirl style absinthe glass from the French glass-maker Cristallerie La Rochere. Arguably this is one of the most frequently seen glasses in Impressionist paintings and its sturdy construction makes it ideal for every day use.

These glasses from Cristallerie La Rochere are copies of the famous Pontarlier glass made famous in the painting by Charles Maire. Authenticated on the base by Marie Claude Delahaye of the Absinthe Museum.

This hand-blown crystal reservoir glass is based on the classic French 19th century reservoir glass with the correct measure of absinthe being provided by the reseroir at the base of the glass. This piece is identical to antiques found on the market, and has been made continuously by the same Spanish glass-house since the early 20th century.

A classic combination of two fine hand-blown pieces of glassware. The Grand Pontarlier glass is matched with a large dripper. The glass is used in conjunction with the specially designed large-sized dripper as the ultimate mixing tool - ice-water is slowly added to the dripper cup and allowed to flow gently into to the absinthe in the glass. If you wish, a sugar cube can be added to the dripper along with ice.

A full 10.2 centimeters in diameter (2 centimeters larger than our original model seen above), this dripper cup will fit atop virtually ANY modern or antique absinthe glass. It was designed to fit the Grand Pontarlier glass perfectly.

This is a fantastic absinthe-tasting and collectable glass: an original 'Pontarlier' type glass, hand-blown in crystal using the original, recently rediscovered 19th century mould. The volume is quite large (in total approximately 41cl - almost 14 ounces ), helping the drinker to appreciate delicate aromas and flavours from the best absinthes without overfilling, and it can be comfortably swirled by holding its base. The dosed stem has not been altered from the original mould and is around 2.5cl. (note: due to the hand-blown process, dose sizes may vary slightly from glass to glass) and you should follow the type and alcoholic strength of absinthe used along with your own taste to find your preferred mixing ratio. Should you wish to use an absinthe spoon with this glass, we suggest, for now, only the Replica 'Cuilleres #1' or 'Playing Cards' spoons as virtually all other replica absinthe spoons are too short.
